Acceptable Lifestyle Creep
There's a new coffee shop that has opened across the street from my gym.
Before now, my routine post-gym has been to walk to Pret a Manger round the corner to get a coffee after a workout. I pay £5/month coffee subscription and get 50% off, and I'm unreasonably frugal on these things, so it seemed the obvious thing to do.
But this new place has incredible light, good WiFi, plenty of seating and decent coffee. Yes, it's £4 a cup (vs. £1.70 for my post-discount americano at Pret), but my goodness it's worth the extra £2.30 to be in a space that lifts you up.
I'm proud of being frugal (some would say tight) and avoiding lifestyle creep along the way. But this one is worth it.
