Grammar
One of the best things about practising writing through this blog is having to check my understanding of spelling and grammar.
For example, on Friday in my blog Please Be Different I wrote about James Dyson's organising philosophy:
"Difference for the sake of it in everything".
As embarrassing as it is to admit, I actually didn't know before I wrote that blog whether the full stop (".") at the end of the sentence should go inside or outside the quote (in British English, it's outside, unless the punctuation is part of the quote). Similarly, when I first wrote the word "practising" I had to check whether "pracising" or "practicing" was the correct British spelling (it's the former).
I'm sure I knew these things once upon a time, but it's the sort of thing that gets less and less required as you move through life. It's nice to have the opportunity to revisit - to get it right.
