Macbook
I finally broke and bought a MacBook (Air*).
I haven't had a personal laptop for a while - I've just used my work laptop as and when needed. But there is too much going on in AI for me to go through the hassle of requesting an admin password from our outsourced IT department every time I want to download something new.
I've also never really been a fully-fledged Mac user. I was trained as a strategy consultant on the Microsoft Office suite, and the keyboard shortcuts are burnt into my muscle memory. But the online chatter about better experiences for MacBook users - again, related to AI - made it a relative no-brainer to take the plunge.
I wanted to pull the trigger now because much of the sentiment around the tech world seems to be pointing towards an impending memory crisis - and the chart doesn't look great:

That's going to flow through into consumer prices over the next few years, and the fallout is going to be brutal. Hopefully this new device lasts me until we get out the other side...
*I went for the MacBook Air over the Neo - or the most AI-pilled option, the Mac Mini - for reasons that are too boring to go into.
