Travel Pain
Travelling this weekend reminded me how broken the trip planning and booking process is.
My current workflow: I check flights on Skyscanner and search for the cheapest options with tolerable flight times. I might have a slight preference for airport, but most of the London airports are equally painful. I don't factor in travel time or cost to/from the airport whatsoever (e.g. knowing there's be a rail replacement service from Stansted Airport, as there is today), nor the time/cost/stress of the airport experience depending on the airline, time of flight, airport, and so on. I don't have time to search all my various credit cards for any relevant perks or discounts. And I certainly can't be bothered to faff around with endless airline loyalty schemes with worthless points.
There has to be a way to make it all better - and most of all, simpler. Most of the travel tech companies I've seen are overcomplicating things - trying to help book my end to end trip, suggest restaurants, book experiences, and so on. I don't want that stuff, I just want the simplest and best value experience of the functional process of getting to my destination. Help me execute better on the decisions I've already made.
If you're building that thing, please get in touch.
